Cross Handed Departure

Hands are crossed when leaving the board so your body turns
Notes
This departure is for beginners who are learning a half turn. The crossed grip causes the body to turn immediately. Once this has been mastered a 'Half Turn Departure' is a better way to leave the board to perform a half turn. Put your right hand onto the bar first with your hand underneath the bar with your palm upwards. Next put your left hand onto the bar as usual, but on the right hand side of your other hand. As you step off the platform your body will start to turn, so stay tight! You can reverse left and right if you prefer to turn to your right.

These notes are provided ONLY as an explanation of the trick.
