One great way to discover flying trapeze is by attending a summer camp that offers trapeze and circus as an activity, of which there are many. Some offer trapeze as part of an intensive program, while others have it as one of many activities which all campers can participate in. Either way, it can be a great way to fly in what are often beautiful settings and relaxed and fun environments.

There are a very large number of summer camps that offer flying trapeze, but the vast majority are in North America. This option can therefore be expensive if you live elsewhere. Also pay attention to how long you need to stay at the camp, as many will have week-long or month-long stays as a requirement. Drop-ins are usually not possible.

Most summer camps exclusively cater for young people up to the age of 18, with a few exceptions for adult or family camps. They are usually only open during a small window of a few months during the summer.

If you are looking for work as a trapeze instructor, this can be a great way to get started. Many camps start to look for staff during the spring to work their summer seasons.
