Another Montreal based circus, Cirque Eloize takes a slightly different approach to Cirque du Soleil. Their shows are more informal, with a few artists performing in many acts. Some excellent acts are featured on this disc including a swinging trapeze act.
The Post Combined Circus draws the biggest crowd ever when pretty Penelope does her heart-stopping blindfolded trapeze act. In the course of events she falls in love with Pablo, her co-artist.

Corteo is the story of a clown revisiting all his life at his own funeral. The tale is told through whimsical and dynamic music accompanied by the French-Canadian troupe's dependably spectacular acrobatic feats. Acts include: bouncing beds (trampoline), teeterboard, tounik (high bar) and a superb korean cradle act which will appeal to trapeze entusiasts.
This Cirque du Soleil creation telling the story of Icarus, whose wings melt when he flies to close to the run, sending him crashing into the volcanic and mysterious world of Varekai. Acts include: fantastic Icarian Games, russian swings, aerial net.
A great (award winning) soundtrack, and incredible acts make AlegrÃa one of Cirque du Soleil's most popular touring troupes. Acts include russian bars, swinging trapeze, power track trampoline and a superb aerial high bar act that includes a swinging catcher.
Dralion's setting is primarily Eastern in nature. Its theme is the clash between the east and west. Chinese and western artists come together in a colourful show with great music. Acts include: swinging trapeze, silks and hoop diving.
One of Cirque du Soleil's darker shows, with a modern, urban theme. Acts include: cloud swing, spanish webs and the Banquine - one of Cirque's best acts.
Originally for IMAX, this film is a collection of Cirque acts filmed on location, with breathtaking filming and nice costumes. Features Synchronised Swimming from "O".
Saltimbanco is one of the earlier Cirque shows. Very colourful show featuring acts such as bungee trapeze, double trapeze, and hand to hand.
Cirque du Soleil's second show. Still very traditional in style in stark contrast to their more recent shows. No longer touring. Features an aerial cradle act.
This is 13-part documentary showing the making of Varekai, by concentrating on a small group of artists. An emmy-award winning series, this gives great insight into the creation of a Cirque show.
A fictional movie based around the travelling show Alegria. The storyline is a little bizarre, however a nice soundtrack (including a remastered version of 'Alegria') and appearances from real Cirque performers make this DVD worth a look. DVD includes extras showing circus acts from Alegria performed on location.
